A Great Way to Save

So many of us are looking for ways to save money when traveling to our favorite Disney locations. We may travel at certain times of the year, to get special pricing. We may take advantage of “free dining” offers. We may even decide to stay offsite altogether in our quest to save a dollar. What’s a Disney Fan to do when they have caviar tastes on a beer budget? Stay in deluxe accommodations, of course! Wait, wait, before you think I sound like a total nut job, hear me out. You can stay on property, take advantage of all of the perks afforded to hotel guests (like extra magic hours), and save serious money. You can rent Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points to rent a lovely room, mere minutes from all the magic!

Purchasing DVC points may not be for everyone. They may be out of your budget, or just not work with your vacationing needs. Until fairly recently I had no idea that there was anything in-between paying for a room on property each time I visited Disney World and buying into Disney Vacation Club. Point rental has the same great perks of owning a piece of the magic without the commitment.

First let’s discuss why this is a great value. For the purposes of this article, all suggestions will be specific to Walt Disney World in Florida, but many can be applied to Disneyland as well. You don’t have to rent a car. Removing car rental from your vacation budget can save you some serious dough. As a guest on Disney property, you can take advantage of Magical Express to get you from the airport to your hotel, and from there Disney busses, the monorail, or boats can take you wherever you need to go within the “world.”

You can have a kitchen to make some of your own meals. This also means no stressing about trying to schedule dining reservations for every single meal during your vacation. If you rent at least a one bedroom villa, your room will be equipped with a full kitchen. This means that you don’t have to run out of your room with your hair still wet in the morning to make sure you get to breakfast on time to see your favorite princess (you can schedule that for later in the day). As delicious as Disney’s food is, we all know you can save money by fixing yourself at least one meal in your room. This is one of the biggest reasons our family stays in a villa. Some days we make breakfast and pack a lunch for the parks.

You can pack FAR less! We all know how expensive luggage fees are on the airlines. DVC villas have washers and dryers (or access to a laundry room for those staying in a studio). You could potentially get away with just packing a carry on and just doing laundry a couple of times.

Extra magic hours. These are included for on site guests, and mean that you can spend a few extra hours at the park where they’re offered each day. This way you get more bang for your buck as far as the price of the park ticket. Let’s face it, that’s where a big chunk of your vacation dollar goes right there.

A couple of other benefits that may not save you money but are well worth a mention? You’re much closer to the attractions, and that means more action and more rest for your family. Less time spent getting there means more time experiencing all of the wonderful things the parks have to offer and getting your money’s worth there. It also means an optional rest in the middle of the day which is invaluable for guests with little ones.

Amazing rooms! I know, I know, you only go to your room to sleep, but you really don’t know what you’re missing here until you try it. Coming home at the end of the day to a whirlpool tub, overlooking the Magic Kingdom, sounds pretty amazing right? It definitely

is! These rooms can transport you to another region of the world, making it seem like you’re on a vacation within a vacation. Just look at these villas that are being built at the Polynesian.

Is this going to save everyone money? Probably not because no vacation solution works for every traveler, but for those that prefer to stay in lovely, comfortable accommodations, and save time that they can spend with their family, while saving in some areas of their vacations, renting DVC points from a reputable retailer such as dvcretalstore.com can be a lovely way to plan your Disney trip.
