Who doesn’t love walking around Walt Disney World seeing all the little girls dressed up like princesses? Well if you have a family of all boys like us, you may wonder if there is something special for them as well. Great News! Disney has an awesome experience called The Pirates League that will not disappoint. Appointments fill up fast, so make sure you book early. You can reserve a spot at the Pirates League by calling (407) WDW-CREW.
When you first arrive you are sworn in and given your Pirate name. They transformed our Jacob into Robert Blaststriker.
You are then taken into a small room where the magic begins. They have several different packages from which to choose. We opted for the First Mate Package which cost us about $35.00. With this package he could choose to be a Ghosted Pirate, a Zombie, Captain Hook, Captain Jack or Black Eyed Jack. Jacob chose to be a Ghosted Pirate. The makeup artist warned us that this character took multiple layers of paint and it was really hot out that day. That did not deter Jacob at all and the face paint held up throughout the whole day.
Once the transformation was completed, he was taken into a special room for pictures which were included in our Memory Maker package. They also allow you to take your own pictures if you wish.
With the First Mate package he was also given a bandanna, an earring, an eye patch, a sword with sheath, The Pirates League bag, a temporary tattoo and a coin necklace.
Jacob received a lot of attention from characters and cast members throughout the day. Pictured above is his sword battle with one of the Lost Boys during the Festival of the Fantasy Parade. This experience was sooo cool and we had a happy little boy all day. The Pirates League is a definite must do on our next trip. Mom and Dad may even get in on the fun next time!
