The Disney Cruise Line has designed the Wonder and the Magic ships to accommodates approximately 2400 passengers, while the Dream and Fantasy holds approximately 4000. The Dream and Fantasy are the newer of the fleet and have many special features…the AquaDuck, Goofy’s Sports Deck which included miniature golf (my son’s favorite), Crush Talk at Animator’s Palate and Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique just to name a few. The Magic and Wonder were the first ships that set sail, so the ships are approximately 15 years old. While the Magic has been reengineered, the Wonder will hopefully be updated within the next couple of years.
While sailing on the Magic and Wonder, we were able to get to know our wait and hostess staff. We enjoyed a more relaxed atmosphere with our wait staff each night, having time to personally connect with each of them. We also had the opportunity to connect with many of the passengers throughout the sailing, which we have met people from all over the world. The attention to detail and customer service, was extraordinary!
The Dream and Fantasy offer the newer amenities, larger space and more staterooms accommodating families of 5. These ships also offer the newer theatre productions and on board events.
You can decide for yourself which ship you enjoy most. But for your family, we love the intimacy of the smaller ships. Happy Sailing!
