Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Luau Dinner Show

Spirit of Aloha LuauSpirit of Aloha is an all-you-care-to-eat, family-style luau and stage performance featuring hula dancing and fire-baton entertainment at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Held in a covered, open-air dinner theater along the scenic shores of Seven Seas Lagoon, the show is a perfect fit for its lush, tropical setting.

At check-in, Disney PhotoPass captures your portrait for a keepsake memento. A print of the photo is ready to buy later on, or if you’ve purchased PhotoPass+, you will receive a complimentary copy as well as have it scanned into your account. Now you’re ready to join the party!

Proceed down the path to be escorted to your table. When you sample the feast awaiting you, you’ll feel transported to the South Pacific. Served first are pineapple breads (same as are offered at ‘Ohana) and a fresh salad with mango-poppy seed dressing. Delivered next are platters of barbequed pork ribs, roast chicken, pineapple slices, Polynesian rice, and seasonal vegetables. Your server will keep it coming at your request, but be sure to leave room for dessert! Individual chocolate mousse volcanos drizzled with raspberry “lava” and set in pineapple sauce will delight your sweet tooth. My youngest is a picky eater, so our wonderful server brought him “Hawaiian vanilla ice cream”—a white chocolate version of the mousse—and he ate it all up.

Spirit of Aloha Luau dessertWhile you enjoy salad and bread, the show’s story line is introduced, weaving a spellbinding tale of a native girl who takes the traditions of her people out into the world with her. Audience members are invited onstage for a children’s hula, a birthday hula, and an anniversary hula. The show pauses for intermission while Guests dine, then resumes with authentic music and feature dances from Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand, and Hawaii, and includes stunning costumes and a breath-taking fire-baton performance.

Thanks for the review Jodi. About five years ago a neighbor had a polynesian wedding shower for her daughter. She had the dancers, foods, leis, etc. at the party. It was awesome. Hopefully I can schedule this show soon for our family.
