Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

disney-s-wilderness-lodgeDisney’s Wilderness Lodge takes you to the back into the woods with out the camping gear.  From the moment you walk in the dark woods, massive fireplace, and crickets welcome you home.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has 728 rooms and is located on Bay Lake.   There are lots of variety when it comes to rooms here, standard view, woods, view, and courtyard view. Then there is woods or courtyard views with bunk beds.  Disney’s Wilderness Lodge also has Club Level rooms with a standard or deluxe rooms.  The deluxe rooms  can sleep up to 6 and has better views that standard rooms.

What’s Cookin’ at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge?  Artist Point is a fine/signature dining, Whispering Canyon Cafe is a themed restaurant and quite fun for the kids.   For quick service head to Roaring Fork or Trout Pass Pool Bar, and I can’t forget Territory Lounge.  In addition, there is 24 hour room service.

Heading to the Magic Kingdom?  Take the Disney’s watercraft transportation.  If your off to another park, you’ll need to use Disney’s Bus services.

After a long day at the parks take a dip in one of the Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Pools.  Silver Creek Springs Pool has a 67 foot slide built into the rocks at this beautiful resort.  There is a splashing pool for the little ones and a whirlpool spas for the “big kids”.  There is also the Hidden Springs Pool tucked in by the Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge offer many recreational activities including bike & surrey rentals, The Cubs Den offers programs for your preschoolers and kids, sailboat rentals, fish excursions, movies under the stars, a playground, arcade, lake beach, health club and campfires.  After all you are in the “Wilderness”.

One of my favorite features of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is Fire Rock Geyser.  This powerful geyser fires water 120 feet into the air every hour from 7 am to 10 pm each day.  Another must see is the Electric Water Pageant check with the front desk, but is usually about 9:35 pm weather permitting.

Don’t forget that special Disney gift at the Wilderness Lodge Mercantile!
