If you are planning a WDW trip, you might find yourself asking a few questions about the FastPass+ system. Things come to mind such as, “what in the World is FastPass+, how much does it cost, and how do I use it?!” The short answer: It is your ticket to the best Disney experiences, it is FREE, and you simply scan your band at the entrance to your favorite attractions. Sounds pretty straight-forward, right? Well, the longer answer is a little more complicated, but I will do my best.
The Disney FastPass+ service allows you to reserve your spot in line to certain attractions, entertainment, and a few other WDW exclusives. When you purchase your ticket or Annual Pass, the FastPass+ is included at no additional charge as early as 30 days before you arrive. There is a HUGE BONUS for those with a WDW Resort Vacation Package. Those guests have the ability to reserve their Fast Passes up to 60 days before check-in!
FastPass+ gives you the power to choose three selections per day from over 60 WDW experiences. You may reserve them online or using the mobile app in advance or you can make them in-park at the FastPass+ kiosk. After you’ve used your initial three selections, you may head over to a kiosk and choose one more.
With the FastPass+ system, there is something for everyone. You can choose to use it for attractions, entertainment choices, select Character Greetings, and even special viewing area for parades and fireworks. So, whether you’re into fast rides, you have to meet every character, or you just want to have the best seat in the house for all the parade action, FastPass+ can help make your Disney visit even more magical. Once you are in the park, you may check in at FastPass+ entrances during the indicated time, with little or no wait.
I recommend you make your FastPass+ selections as early as possible so that you have the optimal choices. To change or cancel your selections, go online or use the mobile app to return to the FastPass+ page. You can also get assistance from the Lobby Concierge at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel or at a FastPass+ kiosk in any of the parks. You’ll want to remember that the kiosks allow FastPass+ selections and updates only for the park where that kiosk is located.
The FastPass+ system is designed to be used primarily at one park per each day of your visit. However, if your ticket includes a Park Hopper Option, after you use your initial FastPass+ selections at one park, you’ll be able to make additional FastPass+ selections at a kiosk (one at a time) at the second park you visit that day, up to park closing.
