Question for The Disney Moms:
“We just decided to take a quick trip to Disney in 3 weeks. All the dining reservations are booked…where is the best place to see the characters?? Especially Mickey and Minnie…” ~ Amy
I love last minute trips to Disney…sometimes when you “plan less” you can “do more”. It sounds like during your previous trips to Disney you may have made reservations for meals in order to see and interact with the characters. Character meals are a fantastic way to meet several characters within a short period of time. Plus you get to relax, enjoy your meal and have them come to you. Since dining reservations require a 24 cancellation, or families are charged a $10 per person no show fee, you may still be able to find the perfect character meal during your trip. Use your My Disney Experience app to check dining availability while you are on vacation.
Character Meet & Greet locations are available throughout all of the parks. Using your park map, look for the mickey silhouette (pictured above) for greeting locations and use the Times Guide to determine when the characters will be available.
Some of our favorite Meet & Greets are with:
- Talking Mickey at Town Square Theater, Main Street U.S.A in the Magic Kingdom
- Disney Friends under the Big Top at Pete’s Silly Sideshow, Fantasyland, Magic Kingdom
- Mickey and Friends at the Epcot Character Spot, Future World West, Epcot
and just across the sidewalk
- Baymax and Inside/Out friends Joy & Sadness, Future World West, Epcot
- Kylo Ren and Chewbacca at Star Wars Launch Bay, Hollywood Studios
Have fun on your trip and say hello to Mickey for me!

Born and raised in the south, I now live in central New Jersey. My days are filled with homeschooling, reading, and ministry work. My son and I are active members of our local church and enjoy camping with the Boy Scouts of America.
