The International Flower and Garden Festival is truly one of my favorite times of the year! I love all of the creativity and imagination used to transform Epcot into a Spring lovers paradise! This year’s festival will not disappoint – there are brand new topiaries making their debut, seminars and speakers, special weekend celebrations, play areas, and food and beverages that will awaken the inner foodie in us all! The International Flower and Garden Festival runs through May 15th.
With all that is happening, you will want to pick up the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival Map and Times Guide at the front of the park. Along with pointing out all of Epcot’s attractions it will include everything Flower and Garden related. You can also grab one of the Passport booklets – this is especially fun for kids. Not only will it give you an overview of everything going on throughout the length of the festival it also lets you track all of the fun things you experience. Guests are encouraged to get pages stamped as they visit all of the different gardens, children’s activities, food booths, and special merchandise areas.
Don’t forget to check out the Festival Center located between Mission: Space and Ellen’s Energy Adventure. This is included with your park admission. You can find complimentary gardening presentations and guest speakers here Friday through Sunday from 10 am – 5pm. You will definitely want to check out your Times Guide for these! Inside the Festival Center, there is also a really cool exhibit explaining how the topiaries are designed and built!
You will also want to plan on attending one of the concerts going on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, included with your park admission. There are three shows taking place these evenings at the America Gardens Theater, located across from the American Adventure. Bands like the Gin Blossoms, Starship, the Village People, and En Vogue can be found here in the evenings.
On top of everything Epcot already has to offer, you will definitely love taking in all of the fun extras the International Flower and Garden Show brings! Some of my favorites from this year’s show are the Anna & Elsa topiaries, Cactus Road Rally, the Butterfly Garden, the Kung Pao Chicken Bun from the Lotus House booth, the Florida Blueberry and Lemon Curd Tart, the Beer Flight from Florida Fresh, and the Bacon Cupcake from The Smokehouse.
