How to Celebrate a Birthday at Disney World…Disney Moms Style!

By Amanda from Mouze Kateerz.com

A while back, I became intrigued with the idea of celebrating a birthday at Disney World. I asked The Disney Moms fans on Facebook just what they did to celebrate birthdays with The Mouse, and their really answers fell into three categories: surprise them, eat with a character,  and decorate the hotel room. The Voice of Bambi

BambiDo you ever wonder whatever became of those unseen actors who gave voice to our most beloved animations? Bambi is one of my favorite movies of all time. It still makes me cry! The young deer sounded so sweet and innocent. As it turns out, the little boy in the starring role had quite the career as a child actor and grew up to become an accomplished military serviceman. In honor of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday, I hope you’ll join me in thanking him and the many other brave men and women who have served and who continue to serve our country with their strength and bravery. Should You Moms Pay For One of These at Disney World for Some Peace and Romance?

By Amanda from mouzekateerz.com.

Never once did the idea of paying a babysitter at Disney World enter my mind. Not even once. But I sort of vacation like a kid myself. I stay up crazy late, I eat cupcakes and fries for actual meals, and I ride rides and watch shows with the enthusiasm of a small child. Add that to the fact that I am incredibly cheap, and there’s no room or $$ in my vacation for a slinky evening dress, an adult dinner at a Disney Signature restaurant, with my three kids deposited into the company of a sitter.

What To Pack For Walt Disney World

After almost 20 vacations to Walt Disney World I still refer to my packing list as I prepare for a trip.  This is an extensive list, but it helps me as I plan.  We have traveled to WDW as 2 adults with no kids, 2 adults with 1 child, 2 adults with 1 toddler, and 2 adults with 1 child and 1 toddler.  We’ve traveled by plane and in our own car.  We’ve been in summer, fall, winter and spring.  We’ve traveled with free dining and we’ve brought our own food and snacks.  One thing that has stayed consistent is the fact that we always stay on Disney property!  Depending on the circumstances of your trip, you can customize this list to fit your needs.  Happy planning! Disney Gifts for the Graduate

image courtesy of the Disney Store

My oldest daughter recently completed her senior year of high school.  Her diploma arrived in the mail the other day; and we are busily planning a celebration party (for this coming Sunday).  Yesterday, we created a video to show at the party – complete with pictures of her from newborn – present.  Talk about bittersweet!  Of course, we also have gifts on the brain – because, after all that hard work, a few gifts are in order, right?

This morning, I woke up thinking “Disney gifts!”   And it hit me that, with graduation season in full swing, this would be an appropriate post!  So, if you’ve got a Disney-loving graduate in your life, here are a few gift suggestions:

  1. A Class of 2012 Graduation Mickey Mouse Ear Hat
We almost bought one of these on our last visit to the park (earlier this year). Now, I’m wishing we would have. We homeschool, and Ashley chose not to have a ceremony (so there will be no cap and gown). Anyway, they are available from the Disney Store for $16.95. Continue reading

Kids Want to Do This On Vacation. Do You Have What It Takes to Make It?

By Amanda from Mouze Kateerz.com.

I recently finished writing an article about 5 things kids want to do on vacation. (What Do Kids Want to Do on Vacation? The Answers May Surprise You!) I think as parents, knowing how expensive a Disney vacation can be, we tend to over-plan our days. I also believe this is somewhat perfectly reasonable. Disney vacations are quite expensive. Most of us save for a long time to get to Orlando, so why not try to get all we can out of the trip we worked so hard to achieve? Continue reading
